How to comfort a dog when they've lost their best friend?

I have two dogs, Bingo and Diamond. Bingo is dying and will be put to sleep this week, he's like a father to Diamond. How can I help comfort Diamond or help her to understand that Bingo isn't here anymore? She depends on him for so much, I won't be able to stand it if she keeps looking around for him once he's gone.
